Validation Capital's finance team has more than 25 years of capital markets and investing experience from firms including CIBC, BMO, and CME Group. The engineering team brings expertise in cybersecurity, network architecture, and software development from firms including Deloitte, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Rogers Communications.

Michael is a seasoned financial and capital markets professional. He previously held principal portfolio management and advisory roles with a $100mm family office venture debt fund. Michael also held senior executive positions within the capital markets groups of both the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) and the Bank of Montreal (BMO). In 2017, Michael was the founder and general partner of Chaintech Digital, a blockchain based digital asset fund. Currently, Michael is the CEO of Validation Capital.

Alex is an established leader in the Canadian crypto space, with over five years of experience as an investor, consultant, and financial manager. Alex began his career working in private equity where he was directly involved with the diligence and underwriting of investment opportunities primarily in the real-estate space. Alex is currently the COO of Validation Capital.

Andrew is a former Analyst in Deloitte’s Cyber Risk Services practice where he specialized in network and application security for large retail and financial services clients. His technical experience includes work in the telecommunications industry building core network infrastructure for video streaming applications. Andrew received a BASc in Computer Engineering with Honours from The University of Toronto, and an MBA from The University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.

Ralf is an experienced executive with a strong background in blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and decentralized technology. Ralf’s career spans roles in M&A, sales and executive management positions in large corporations and technology startups. He discovered Blockchain through a Fintech investment in 2015. Since then, Ralf cannot unsee the transformative potential of this technology and has been involved the blockchain space as an investor, advisor and board member. Ralf holds an MBA from Cornell and an M.A. in History from the University of Zurich.

Pascal is an expert in Finance, Entrepreneurship, Blockchain Technology, and has an in-depth fascination & understanding of how new technologies can translate into venture opportunities both from a business and regulatory point of view. Pascal accumulated 10+ years of professional experience in Finance & VC / PE investing, Law, Strategy & Project Management at a leading strategy consulting firm, as well as Business Development in a startup. Pascal holds a Masters in Theoretical Physics from ETH Zurich and an M.A. HSG in Law from University of St. Gallen (HSG), Switzerland.

Dan received his formal education in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, and Economics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Previously he was a Decentralized Consensus fellow at Insight, where he developed a decentralized finance platform for unsecured crypto loans. Dan’s diverse technical background also includes leading projects ranging from B2C social media platforms, to a multi-chain fraudulent crypto address identifier as a Blockchain Researcher at Rensselaer.

Anthony has a background in Software Development and Operations with a passion for blockchain node management, automation, and optimization. Previously, Anthony worked in the blockchain industry as a DevOps Engineer at MakerDAO. Prior, he worked as a Software Engineer at Booz Allen Hamilton. Anthony received his formal education in Computer Science from SUNY Polytechnic Institute.

Ralph has spent over five years in investment banking, at BMO Capital Markets, and private equity at DIF Capital Partners. Ralph primarily focused on renewable energy projects, transportation and social infrastructure. He has a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Business from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Chris worked at CME Group where he was on the team that launched the first regulated Bitcoin Futures and Options contracts. Chris earned his bachelor's degree from Lafayette College in 2016 where he studied economics and was named captain of the tennis team. Chris Matturri is an MBA candidate and the recipient of the first Fintech Fellowship at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business. As part of the fellowship, Chris conducts research on digital assets and blockchain technology for the Center for Financial Markets & Policy, and also serves as the Chief Investment Officer for Georgetown’s Graduate Investment Fund.

Alex is a Principal at Touchdown Ventures (TDV), where he focuses on early- through growth-stage B2B software investments. Prior to TDV, Alex worked on direct investments, M&A and strategy at firms including The Virgin Group and Estee Lauder Companies. His career began in investment banking at Morgan Stanley and UBS. He is also a former contributor and case reviewer for Harvard Business Publishing in areas related to VC, PE, and entrepreneurship. Alex holds a BS in Economics from the Wharton School at UPenn, where he played Division I Baseball, and an MBA from Columbia.

Kevin is a seasoned financial services lawyer with over two decades of futures and swaps regulatory experience. Kevin is a partner of Delta Strategy Group, a Washington, D.C. based firm that works closely with Congress, CFTC, SEC and other regulatory agencies. Kevin also founded Jenga Advisors, a strategy firm focused on advising blockchain companies with respect to regulatory compliant token projects and secondary market listings. Over his career, Kevin has held roles with the US Senate, CFTC Division of Enforcement, UK Financial Services Authority, and a Fortune 100 law firm.
